I started A Touch of Sparkle at the end of 2018, with absolutely no knowledge of what I was doing. I've always been a very artistic and crafty person, and after watching a few thousand videos of people creating amazing things with resin, I decided I wanted to try it myself. I made some really cool pieces and sold quite a bit in that first year. I even had many custom creations that people comissioned me to make. I decided to stop using resin completely after developing a severe allergy to it.

In 2020, I ventured into jewelry making, and made a lot of earrings for my online store, mostly with a lot of the resin pieces I had made. I did well, espeically on Depop, but I decided that was not the direction I wanted to go.

By 2021, I had fully immersed myself into the world of jewelry making, and wanted to try wire art. I watched so many YouTube videos, I joined online workshops, and made friends in the jewelry making community, and I felt like I finally found something that I genuinely enjoyed doing. I learned how to do basic wirewrapping, and started making suncatchers, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. I was very critical of my work at this stage of my journey.

I went through a phase where I didn't even want to list any of my stuff for sale.

Over the last few years, I have tried to find the space that I fit into, and I've realized that I don't have to fit into a space at all. All I can do is try everyday to be a better artist, and learn new techniques. I wish I had started sooner, and been even further than I am now, but at least I STARTED. You have to take that first step, even if it's scary.

I am so glad that I have stuck with it, and learned new things. I am very happy with where I am right now with my business, and I hope next year I am in an even better place.
